Droaam: Graywall and Long Shadows
The Sovereign Host
The oldest and most common religion of Eberron, the Sovereign Host has endured by adapting and maintaining a versatility through the ages that has allowed it to spread from the most primitive of the races to the most refined cities. Ideas on the exact nature of the nine sovereign deities within its pantheon can even vary dramatically depending on the local culture, but all contain an overall theme of the host being one with Eberron itself. Revered as the celestial gods of good by some and seen by others as the masters of civilization and progress, each member is typically given its appropriate due in turn rather than signaled out as an individual deity to worship. While a person might feel closest aspect of the Host, they remain to one away that the Host is gestalt and more than its individual members. The nine members and their standard domains are; Arawai (agriculture and fertility), Aureon (knowledge and law), Balinor (the cycle of life and the hunt), Boldrei (community and home), Dol Arrah (honor and military strength), Dol Dorn (courage and physical prowess), Kol Korran (Wealth and Trade), Oliadra (Fortune and Success), and Onatar (Crafts and Industry/Forge). The faith does not regularly look to an afterlife, believing death to be a natural end to the spark of divinity each mortal contains, but instead seek to appreciate the blessing of everyday life. Vassal’s readily acknowledge a relation between the Host and the Dark Six. But beyond recognizing that the two factions originate from an ancient schism, what one understandings of the nature the two groups of divine figures is often up to the individual or local interpretations. Some Vassals even continue to collectively worship all figures as a collection of 15 figures that are also one.
